For Gila County Government iC Tek Solutions created a complete Content Management System that enables the creation of “templates”. A template is a layout; graphic and component based items that can be placed on a set of pages.
For example, the Health Department and the Information Technology Group of Gila County each have their own set of templates. The templates consist of editable content as well as required content. The screen shot below displays the general content management portion used for updating content.
Updating content is done completely via the web admin section and is very easy to use. The design is very similar to that of a MS Word document.
In addition, users are able to add new pages and apply a template by a simple click of a button. The page management portion is displayed in the screen shot below.
If there is new component to be added (e.g. RSS Feed, News, Calendar) they may do so through the template. The component manager is displayed in the screen shot below.
The newest feature that we have added for Gila County is the ability to create Cascading Style Sheet (CSS) files and apply them to templates and/or individual pages. The user needs no knowledge of CSS, just what they want their respective items to look like. The CSS Online Creator is displayed below.
The CSS Online Creator provides complete and total control of the CSS and a preview function to validate the desired look.
In addition, there is a section within the application administration in which a review process can be implemented that requires approval prior to CSS updates being published.
